Tumors grow their own blood vessels to feed themselves, and this messy new vasculature also helps them dodge the immune system and resist treatment.
QVT Subscore is an interpretable panel that decomposes the QVT (Quantitative Vessel Tortuosity) Score into distinct vascular attributes such as branching, curvature, and radius, enabling treatment-specific readouts of vascular remodeling. Evaluated in the phase 3 SWOG S0819 trial and a real-world immunotherapy cohort, the panel captured mechanism aligned vessel changes.
VEGF-inhibitor regimens significantly reduced QVT Score and Subscores. Immunotherapy recipients showed increases across five of six subscores.
An interpretable vascular panel that reflects each regimen's mechanism of action could inform clinical-trial arm interpretation and identify regimens that may benefit from added anti-angiogenic therapy.
